Recently a Delegation from the Republic of Congo visited India as a pre-visit to the visit of the President of the Republic of Congo on the 12 th October, 2006.

The Delegation comprised of five delegates including the son of the President of the Republic of Congo Mr. Denis Christel SASSOU NGUESSO who is the Administrator General of the COTRADE in the Republic of Congo. The delegation was headed by Mr. Jean Jacques BOUYA , Consular of the President of the Republic of Congo for transport and equipments. The other three delegates were: Mr. Blaise ELENGA, Assistant administrator of the COTRADE, Mr. Gabriel MALANDA, Attaché of the Merchant Navy and Ms. Josephine Marie QUENARD.

The delegation met Mr. Murli Deora , the Honorable Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas , Government of India and planned out some projects which can be executed at the arrival of the President of the Republic of Congo. They also had a meeting with RITES later in the day as they were interested in buying some locomotive plants from this organization. The delegation had there lunch in RITES.

Finally the delegation met ONGC to build up strong trade relations between India and the Republic of Congo for the export- import of products like oil, petroleum and natural gases. ONGC displayed a presentation on its work areas which highly convinced the delegation to develop some business relations with them. Exchange of ideas and the description of work areas were observed during this meeting. ONGC also organized a dinner in the honor of the delegates from the Republic of Congo.
