The Hon'ble Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Congo, Ms. Adelaide Moundele Ngollo visited India with a four member Delegation from 11 th to 18 th November, 2005.

On 12 th November, 2005, the Hon'ble Minister alongwith the delegation and accompanied by Mr. Apoorva Joshi, Head of Operations of the Honorary Consulate of Congo in India and other members visited SSP (Pvt.) Limited. It is a engineering company situated close to New Delhi. It has commendable achievements in field of design, manufacture, installation & commissioning of Dairy, Food Processing, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Plants & Stainless Steel Equipment.


 
 
     


The Minister then visited one of the largest companies in India with over 50 years experience, Escorts Ltd. This company manufactures Farmtrac Tractors and the Escorts group gave a 30 minute presentation to show how these tractors would be useful in the Republic of Congo. The visit was followed by Lunch.

On 13 th November, The Minister alongwith the Honorary Consul of Congo in India, Mr. Rohtas Goel visited The Taj Mahal, One of the eight wonders of the world, in Agra. On the same day, Madam Minister visited the village of Hassanpur in Haryana where she was awarded village reception by the Head of the village, family members and by Mr. Rohtas Goel, who belongs to the village.


   
     


On 14 th November, 2005, The Hono'ble Minister attended the Inaugural ceremony of the India International Trade Fair at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh inaugurated the function. Mr. Kamal Nath, Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, welcomed her visit and thanked her for accessing, the invitation. He said he would like to se the doors opening for India and Republic of Congo. After the function was over, Madam Minister visited the small scale industries section to find the interests that would be beneficial to the interests that would be beneficial to the development of Congo-Brazzaville. The Hon'ble Minister and her Delegation had lunch at Omaxe House with Mr. Rohtas Goel and senior government officials. As a special gesture and goodwill, Mr. Goel promised to give Special aid to Congo by Omaxe Foundation, i.e., 2 ambulance and 2 multiutility vehicles.

 
 
     


At 4 p.m. the same day, The Minister alongwith Mr. Goel met the Minister of State for External Affair, Govt. of India, Shri Rao Inderjit Singh. The meeting discussed strengthening of bi-lateral ties between India and Congo and both sides agreed to explore business opportunities between the two States.

The Minster also met Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar, Minister of Petroleum and Gas. There too, she expressed her keen desire for the India companies to come to Congo and set up operations as Congo is rich in Petroleum and Minerals.

 
 
     


On the same day, she had a dinner meet and presentation by OVL (ONGC Videsh Limited). It is India's largest public sector undertaken of Oil and Natural Gas.

On 15 th November, 2005, The Minister visited NRDC, (national Research Development and Corporation), a Government of India enterprise. During the past five years of existence the corporation has forged strong links with various R&D organizations both within the country and abroad. The meet was fruitful and Madam Minister invited the Head of NRDC to visit Congo and demonstrate their equipment to the people of Congo and develop it to their needs.
